Colorful Wedding at High Camp, Palisades Ski Resort, Lake Tahoe

Amy and Yann’s wedding at High Camp in Palisades Tahoe began in a way that already held meaning.

They met on a ski trip—one organized by their friend Autumn, who would later stand with them again, this time as their officiant.

It set the tone for the day. Personal, familiar, and grounded in relationships that had already shaped their story.

A Colorful, Non-Traditional Wedding Design in Lake Tahoe

Their approach to the day moved away from tradition, but not without intention.

A palette of soft pastels—blue, pink, yellow, coral, and green, brought a sense of lightness and movement into the setting. The colors reflected who they are: open, expressive, and quietly playful.

Nothing felt overly styled. The color existed within the landscape, not separate from it.

A Personal Ceremony Moment: The “Uncle-ing” Tradition

One of the most meaningful moments of the day came in a way that couldn’t be replicated.

Amy’s niece and nephews held an “uncle-ing” ceremony, knighting Yann as their official uncle.

It was simple, personal, and entirely their own.

Moments like this don’t follow a template. They stay because of how they’re felt.

Why High Camp at Palisades Tahoe Is a Unique Wedding Venue

Set above the lake, High Camp at Palisades Tahoe offers a perspective that feels elevated without becoming distant.

  • Panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra mountains

  • A mountaintop setting that shifts with light and weather

  • Indoor and outdoor spaces that allow flexibility throughout the day

It’s a venue where the environment remains present—wide, open, and constantly changing.

Lake Tahoe Ski Resort Wedding with Mountain Views

The setting carried much of the experience.

From the ceremony to the reception, the surrounding mountains and lake remained in view—never overpowering, but always there.

The atmosphere felt expansive, yet grounded. A balance that’s difficult to create, but natural to this place.

Planning a High Camp or Palisades Tahoe Wedding

For couples considering a wedding at High Camp or anywhere in Lake Tahoe, the setting offers more than just a backdrop—it shapes how the day is experienced.

We approach weddings with that awareness. Not directing every moment, but allowing space for them to unfold as they are.
