Gorgeous Candlelit Winter Wedding in the Olympic Valley, Truckee, CA

Amanda and Jake had a really special and moody wedding in the mountains of Lake Tahoe. They put a lot of thought into their ceremony, with thoughtful touches like gloves and scarves. The reception was filled with handmade details, like signs and name tiles. They even incorporated fire elements into their celebration. Despite them expecting poor weather conditions they were being blessed with the most stunning winter conditions for their day.

Amanda and Jake really enjoyed planning each part of their wedding to create an unforgettable day and night. They did a lot of DIY projects, like making signs and welcome bags, to give their guests a glimpse into their world.

For their ceremony, they chose Everline Resort, and for their reception, they picked Palisades Tahoe Olympic Valley Event Center in Truckee, CA. Amanda used to live in the Olympic Valley, so they wanted a venue that would feel cozy among the mountains while still having a sense of adventure. The combination of venues was the perfect fit, with a beautiful outdoor area for the ceremony and a warm lodge for everyone to gather in.

As they learned more about their chosen venue, they discovered that it played a significant role in the civil rights movement in Nevada. This was especially meaningful to them as an interracial couple, and it strengthened their belief that this was the perfect place to bring their community together and celebrate their marriage.

Winter weddings are not very common, but Amanda and Jake wanted to do something unique to bring their loved ones together. They love the cold weather, cozy fires, and activities like snowshoeing and snowboarding. They were also inspired by the concept of Hygge, which is all about creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. They often have Hygge nights with their friends, where they all wear pajamas and enjoy hearty food by the fire.

Their wedding is a reflection of that inspiration but with an elegant and formal twist. They want to create a warm and inviting space where people can feel cozy and have meaningful conversations while celebrating their marriage.

As local photographers, we had the honor of capturing Amanda and Jake's Lake Tahoe winter wedding. It was a truly magical and unique experience. The breathtaking snowy landscapes provided a stunning backdrop for their special day. They embraced the beauty of the season and created a cozy and intimate atmosphere for their guests. It was a joy to be a part of such a meaningful celebration.
